RichardHALSALLRichard Halsall of High Street, Sutton died peacefully in his sleep on the 27th June. Richard was a Chartered Structural Engineer and leaves a fabulous legacy of road and foot bridges across Cambridgeshire where he worked for the County Council most of his career. A passionate east-coast yachtsman; his love of sailing started by accident when he set off to buy a car but couldn't afford it so bought a boat instead - this was so typical of Richard. All through his life he would see something he liked or wanted to do and through hard work and determination quickly became not just capable but a real expert. He could rightly be called a vintner, brewer, chef, mechanic, wood-turner, artist and Rotarian; success was less forthcoming as a decorator, model aircraft pilot, clarinet player, sausage maker and washing machine repairer. Richard was charismatic, entertaining and infectiously enthusiastic; a natty dresser, who will be warmly remembered, for his signature neck chief, bright waistcoats and sporty bow ties. Richard will be sadly missed by his family and many friends who are celebrating his life at Cambridgeshire Crematorium at 14.15 on 14th July
